Despite the fact that my birthday isn’t until the 27th of this month, the birthday presents are rolling in. I received several presents on my trip to Scotland, check out my Travel Makeup Bag if you’re interested, as in my family we generally choose our own presents; it just simplifies things. My family are extraordinarily generous, especially with birthday gifts, so I’ve ended up with loads of things I absolutely adore. There will be another post coming soon, as I was given a fair amount of money and given strict orders to spend it rather than save it. Naturally, Cult Beauty are now rather richer.
I went shopping with my Aunt in pursuit of presents, and one of the things we picked out was this top from Principles at Debenhams. She wasn’t so sure about the slit sleeves, but we both loved the colours. I tried it on initially in a 16 (big boob issues) but it was enormous. We eventually tried it in a 12, which was still a loose fit but miles better than the 16. The top drapes beautifully without being shapeless, and the colours are right up my street, warming my paler-than-death complexion nicely. It looks great with jean and tucked into a full skirt.
I have needed a new small-ish cross body bag for almost a year now, as my faithful burgundy Red Herring one is falling apart. After looking at this Fossil bag in a few department stores and concluding that it was both too expensive at £112 and didn’t have great colours (only black, red and blue, and not very nice shades) we wandered into TK Maxx, because you never know. There this was, the exact same bag in the perfect colour for a fraction of a price. I bought it myself for £50, but my Nan has since asked if it can be her gift to me, so has given me the money. I’m a little bit in love with it.
This was an early gift from my Mother that was much needed, as my current phone seemed to be trying to commit suicide. It kept turning itself off at the worst possible moment, which isn’t great when you’re hoping to hear from jobs you’ve applied for. Worst of all, it wasn’t compatible with Pokemon Go. My life is rosy and I walked 5km yesterday to hatch a god damn Shellder.
I basically want all of the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks and I’m not ashamed of that. The majority of my lipsticks are a matte finish, but lately I’ve been wanting something different, so with a little input from my Aunt we settled on Gash, which is a warm, deep red with a slight shimmer in a cream finish. I resisted the temptation to wear it until I swatched it for the above photo and that wait was agony! I absolutely love it and am currently wearing no other lipsticks.
So far, so amazing! I’m aware of how ridiculously lucky I am with the generosity of my family, and I am grateful for them every day. Keep an eye out for the next birthday present post when the deliveries start coming in!
