As it’s Autumn, a wee wardrobe update was in order. With the weather turning colder I suffered the horrible realisation that I had very few jumpers in my wardrobe, and that I was also missing a few other bits and bobs. I didn’t have a smart heeled boot other than my navy ones, and decided that this needed to be recitified by a serious shopping trip.
H&M Blush Pink Jumper
The only jumpers I currently owner were a very fine navy one and a very thick navy one, so I was looking for two jumpers that fell somewhere in between, and there was definitely no need for any more navy. Pink isn’t really my thing, but I tried this on a whim and fell in love with it. The zip down the back adds a little detailing that I love, and it is slightly longer in length than my other purchase, covering my bum just a little bit. Even though it is basically the colour of my skin, I recently dyed my hair a little darker which seems to make it work. If I was properly ginger or had my natural hair colour as it is in Summer I think I would look too washed out, but for Autumn/Winter it looks great. The high neck is just enough to keep me warm, but the looseness of the fabric means I don’t end up looking like a walking pair of boobs.
H&M Salt and Pepper Jumper
There’s probably a name for this pattern but I don’t know what it is, and I can’t figure out what I should type into google to find out. I’ve always called it salt and pepper, and that’s what I’m sticking with. This is a much finer knit than the pink jumper, and is shorter in the body. It sits just on the hips and I tend to wear it with a vest top underneath unless I’m wearing high waisted jeans, just to add a bit of length to it. I’ve been getting a lot of wear out of this, as it’s just the right thickness for this time of year, while the pink one is more suited to it being slightly colder.
These were an absolute bargain that I stumbled across while doing the weekly shop. They look a lot more expensive than they are, and fit like a glove. The heel is quite a lot for me though, and I’m testing them out this weekend to see if I can actually walk in them…
Peacocks Maroon Lace Up Sandals
These were something I definitely didn’t need, but they were reduced! That’s m excuse anyway. Needless to say I won’t be getting much wear out of them until next summer, but I absolutely love them.
F&F Burgundy Velvet Bomber Jacket
I LOVE this jacket. I was never convinced I could pull off a bomber jacket, and if I’m honest I’m still not sure, but I love it so much I’ve been wearing it anyway. This was another bargain from Tesco’s brand, Florence and Fred, and is another piece that looks far more expensive than it was. Gold hardware is definitely my thing, and this jacket had me written all over it. My brother said I looked like a chav in it, which made me cross until he added, “in a Cara Delevingne sort of way”. I am 100% okay with that. It’s not true, but let’s just go with it.
Aside from that I bought some very boring vest tops and black tights which I won’t photograph or ramble about for you because we all have them, but I am definitely set for Autumn!
Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post, and if so keep an eye out as this is part of my Blogtober series where I post every day. Check out my other posts from this month and see whether I actually manage to even think of 31 topics!
