My Week In Lipsticks | October 2016

We’re now definitely in Autumn, and my makeup is also in full Autumn mode. There’s a definite change in my lipstick choices towards more oranges and berry tones, as demonstrated by this little week in lipsticks I’ve put together for you. There’s a real mix of drugstore and high end, with a few of my absolute favourites for this season seeing a lot of use.

Working from left to right, I started out with a lovely little lipstick from GOSH in the shade nougat, which is a pinky nude and is a really creamy formula; perfect for those bitterly cold days when you would really rather be wearing lip balm.

Next up is an Autumn classic, the Rimmel 107; a gorgeous deep berry shade that works on most skin tones, I do find that it needs a lip liner if you want any kind of longevity. It’s not at all drying as it’s a cream finish, but I do find that it tends to smudge and bleed over the course of the day, and I don’t recommend eating with this on! My lip liner of choice here is the MAC lip liner in Cherry, which is a good match and has great staying power.

Bobbi Brown in Orange is an old favourite of mine, and every time I wear it I’m reminded of the fact that I really want more of these lipsticks! It’s a true, cool orange in a matte finish, and I particularly like wearing it with an all black outfit.

I wrote a fair amount about Stila’s Patina here, and this one is still seeing a fair amount of use later in the month. A soft mauve colour, it’s surprisingly wearable.

My ultimate Autumn, and if I’m honest all time, favourite is MAC Chili, so no prizes for anyone who guessed what this would be when they saw the MAC packaging.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post, and if so keep an eye out as this is part of my Blogtober series where I post every day.  Check out my other posts from this month and see whether I actually manage to even think of 31 topics!
