My June Look Incredible Box has arrived and it looks like another good’un!
Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer – £16
This looks like gold shimmery nail varnish, but I’m always up for a highlighter so I’m looking forward to trying it. I‘m a massive fan of Stila’s eyeliners, but haven’t tried any of their other products so I’ll have to see how this compares for quality.
This is a really lovely golden highlighter that isn’t too shimmery, but really adds to the overall glow of your skin. I tried it both as a regular highlighter and a little mixed with my foundation. I preferred it just as a highlighter, as I think my foundation was a bit too heavy for it and the luminosity was lost.
Velvet 59 Matte to the Max Liquid Lipstick in Pink Cadillac – £17
I received a Velvet 59 mascara in my April Look Incredible Box and that is currently my only exposure to the brand. I love the packaging of this liquid lipstick, and I love matte liquid lipsticks generally so I’m really looking forward to using this, although I have some reservations about the colour.
Okay, so the colour is vile on me. I also wasn’t a fan of the formula, as I found I had a lot of transfer onto my teeth even in the short time I wore it (something that never happens for me). I found it to be watery and needed several coats to get decent lip coverage, which is likely what led to the lipstick-on-teeth problem. It was however pretty long lasting, as even though I took it off my lips pretty quickly the swatch on my arm stayed there all day and took some serious scrubbing to get it off. The Velvet 59 lipstick was also nicely moisturising and felt comfortable on the lips, but I still wasn’t a fan of the formula.
Ciate Manicure Set – £16
I’ve not had to chance to try this kit as of the time of writing, as I am incredibly ham–fisted and will need a second pair of hands to get this right. I’m definitely intrigued by Ciate Set though, as I’ve seen foils floating around for a while and wanted to give them a go. The foils provided are gorgeous, and the last on the right is more of a rainbow shimmer, although it showed up as blue on camera.
No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara – £11.50
I always need new mascara, and anything that says ‘definition’ is something I want to try. I hate clumpy eyelashes, and my eyelashes are already pretty long, thick and curly, the only problem is how pale they are. A mascara that promises dark, defined lashes is the one for me.
As predicted, I love this. The brush gets right into the corners and and really does separate the lashes well. I‘ve used this a few times, both in a major rush and taking my time, and it’s turned out brilliantly regardless. Really liked this!
The Body Shop Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay – £16
I love clay masks for my face but have never used one on my body. The body clay promises to firm my skin by absorbing excess water and oil, making my skin overall more toned.
Another great one here! I absolutely loved it, although it did turn out to be a messy process as I ended up naked and covered in mud and then had to stand there for ten minutes; I’m very glad my Nan didn’t pop down for an unannounced visit just then. The Moroccan Rhassoul Clay delivered on its promise of toning my skin, as my arms in particular feel firmer and smoother. I think I’ll get about three full body applications from this tube, which isn’t bad as I’ll likely only use it every few weeks. I’ll be buying this again when it runs out!
Overall, this was a pretty good box from Look Incredible. I loved the Body Shop Body Clay and the No7 Mascara, and it was great to see a brand like Stila in a beauty box (send me more!). I was really disppointed in the Velvet 59 Liquid Lipstick however, particularly since it’s priced at £17! The NYX liquid lipsticks are far superior in quality and cost £6.50 at most.
