If We Were Having Coffee

Okay, real talk, I’ve never done a tag. However, I’ve seen this one on Gwennan and Rachel’s blogs, coupled with the fact that the ol’ idea factory is running low of late, I thought I’d get in on the action.

Flat white

If we were having coffee…

We’d probably go somewhere independent or a Caffe Nero, simply because Nero has great cake and I like the atmosphere. If we’re having coffee that means we’re actually having cake. I’d probably order a black coffee and a brownie. Since we’ll probably be there for hours I’ll get a flat white later on. I like black coffee when I’m having something sweet with it or if it’s the morning, but a flat white is my fave in the afternoons.

If we were having coffee…

I’d probably tell you my whole life story, talk about my boyfriend a lot and tell you how proud I am of my big little brother. He’s moving to Japan and I’m really going to miss him. I’d also ask you lots of questions about your life and your childhood; I like learning about people’s upbringings and am a good listener, or so I’m told. I’d probably also talk all about my favourite holidays and ask about yours; I get all wistful when talking about New Zealand and I worry that it sometimes sounds like bragging when I talk about travel, but I just love it. Also, fyi, I swear a lot.

If we were having coffee…

I probably wouldn’t mention this blog at all unless you already knew about it, in which case I’d talk about it a bit if it came up but would quickly steer the conversation away. I don’t know how to talk about it; I’m intensely proud of it yet kind of embarrassed by it. I just never know how people will react.  I’d probably want to gossip about whatever the latest Twitter drama is, as although I never get involved I kind of love watching it unfold.

If we were having coffee…

We’d probably end up leaving and going for lunch. If all we’ve eaten is cake I’m going to get hungry. I’d probably suggest a Thai place or I might be craving a burger, but if you’re veggie or vegan my solution is always Banyan in Manchester’s Corn Exchange as they serve all sorts.

This post is part of All-in August, where I attempt to post every single day in August, despite it being one my busiest months. Keep up with it here!
