It’s already September and I am very excited about the approach of Autumn. I don’t like Summer at all, being the pasty white sort of person that spends most of it cowering indoors or slathered in suncream. Roll on the cold, but for now I’ve put together a little list of my favourite things from August.
You’re probably all sick of hearing about the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Gash from me, as I seem to be determined to bring it into every post possible, and this is no exception. I just freaking love it, okay?
Percy and Reed Wonderbalm
I received this in the August Look Fantastic Beauty Box and I’ve been absolutely loving it. It gives my hair that lovely unkempt-deliberately sort of piecy look, and really adds definition to my ends while minimising my natural fluffiness.
One of my absolute favourite birthday presents, it has hardly left my side since I got it. I may do a what’s in my bag post at some point purely to demonstrate just how much I can get in it, because my Mother and Grandmother were astonished.
MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner
I’m normally all about the Stila Stay-All-Day Liquid Eyeliner because that was always the only eyeliner I could use to wing, but I’ve recently been trying to use some of the makeup I tend to neglect. I bought these two MAC Fluidline Gel Eyeliner pots at Copenhagen Airport last year, along with the MAC 210 brush to apply it (despite the urging of the makeup artist to get an angled brush, I find this much easier to use). I have the colours Waveline which is navy blue, and my favourite, Rich Ground, which is a gorgeous bronze shade. I’ve been getting a lot of use out of Rich Ground this month, and I now need a tonne more of these pots because I love them.
I’ve been eating dried mango like sweets all month. I don’t really like fresh mango; the texture just seems really odd, but the dried stuff is like crack to me.
Pickled Onion Monster Munch
Another thing this month that I‘ve been devouring. I loved these as a kid, and I think that corn based crisps in general are better than plain potato and these are the bomb. Not great if you’re planning on kissing anyone though, although I guess they might also be a fan.
If you haven’t seen the Netflix series Stranger Things then I don’t know what you’ve been doing for the past month. It‘s a little bit X Files, a little bit Alien and a lot awesome. I watched the whole thing in one sleepless night regret nothing.
That’s it for the month of August, but I’ll probably be back once September is over with a new round of things I’m loving.
